The First Microprocessor Invention History

In the early 1980s, I had to know a system containing both a MOS Technologies 6502 and a Zilog Z80. It was a 6502-based Apple II+ system with a Microsoft Softcard (Z80 card) put into one of the slots, running at 1MHz (ah yes, one megahertz!). It was able to run both Apple and CP/M applications on the system for the Softcard's 2MHz Z80 CPU.

All of these previous chips prepared the path for the first personal computer processors. In June 1978, Intel released the 8086. The original x86 instruction set was included with the 8086 CPU, and it is still included in modern x86-compatible chips such as the Core i-series and AMD FX. However, the Intel 8088, a stripped-down version of the 8086, was selected as the CPU for the first IBM PC.

I am trying to descript the first Microprocessor Invention History in the few early posts. This is the last post on this topic. Hope you get a clear idea, of how the microprocessor was invented and who is behind work.
