Because the data bus and address bus are separate, chip designers can use any size for each. Chips with bigger data buses, on the other hand, usually have larger address buses. The size of the buses may give information about a chip's relative power, which can be analyzed in two ways. The data bus size reflects the chip's capacity to move data, whereas the address bus size indicates how much memory the chip can manage.
