Explains how a dual-core CPU handles multiple apps for better performance. It's important to remember that multicore CPUs don't make a significant difference in single-task performance. If you just play single-threaded games on your PC, a multicore or hyperthreaded CPU is unlikely to benefit you. To take advantage of multicore CPUs, more and more software (including games) is being developed to be multithreaded. The application is separated into several threads that may be distributed over the available CPU cores.
