Futuremark's PCMark benchmark
Futuremark's PCMark benchmark, which was developed with assistance from AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, and top PC and storage makers, is an alternative to SYSmark. On November 7, 2014, Underwriters Laboratories bought Futuremark.
Despite the issue, Anandtech, a leading technology website, continues to assess the latest AMD and Intel CPUs using SYSmark 2014. SYSmark 2012 (the previous benchmark) may be used to see the results for older CPUs, while SYSmark 2014 can be used to see the results for many of the most current processors.
Focus on the results for specific situations that reflect the job you expect to conduct with the machines for which you are accountable, regardless of the benchmark programs you use. SYSmark 2014, for example, measures performance using Adobe picture and video editing software, Microsoft Office apps, and other popular programs. The Applications benchmark in PCMark 8 assesses the performance of Adobe Creative Suite or Creative Cloud programs as well as Microsoft Office 2010 or 2013 apps.
