ASUS Z97-E Motherboard

ASUS Z97-E Review

The ASUS Z97-E/USB3.1 Motherboard is made to fit into standard ATX cases. The Intel Z97 chipset, as well as the 5th, New 4th, and 4th Generation Core i7, Core i5, Core i3, Pentium, and Celeron CPUs in the LGA 1150 socket, are supported by the 12.0 x 8.6" Z97-E. Internet browsing, hardcore gaming, and CAD software all benefit from the Z97-E's power and speed. The operating systems Windows 8.1, 8, and 7 are all supported by this motherboard. It also has USB 3.1 capability, which allows for data transfer rates of up to 10 Gb/s.

There are four SATA III 6 Gb/s connectors, one SATA Express connector, one M.2 Socket 3 connector, two USB 3.1 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, and eight USB 2.0 ports on the Z97-E. RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 modes are provided for data redundancy. Two PCI Express 3.0/2.0 x16 slots (single at x16, dual at x8/x8), three PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots, and two PCI slots are available for PCIe expansion. The X99S does not have an integrated GPU, but it has been tuned for multiple graphics cards and supports NVIDIA Quad-GPU SLI and AMD Quad-GPU CrossFireX technologies.

The Z97-E is intended to be a one-stop-shop for all your needs. It goes through over 7,000 hours of testing with over 1,000 goods to achieve this. Fan Xpert 3 supports hardware-level PWM/DC combination mode for both CPU and case fans. To ensure smooth daily operation, every compatible component is subjected to a 24-hour aging test.

1 x PS/2 port, 1 x DVI-D port, 1 x D-Sub port, 1 x HDMI port with support for resolutions up to 4K, 1 x Gigabit LAN port, and 6 x audio jacks are also included on the Z97-E/USB3.1 Motherboard. It comes with two SATA III 6 Gb/s cables and an I/O shield.

ASUS 5x Protection

ASUS 5x Protection is a hardware protection technology that ensures long-term dependability. Among them are:

ASUS DIGI+ VRM provides digital power control
VRMs (voltage regulator modules) are one of the most important motherboard components. A good VRM intelligently delivers CPU power based on current needs and includes sensing and response to deliver CPU power on demand. This regular distribution cuts down on energy waste and increases system stability.

Overcurrent Protection for DRAM
Overcurrent and short-circuit protection is provided by onboard resettable fuses. This protection extends beyond I/O ports to DRAM, preserving the system's and associated devices' longevity.

Solid-State Capacitors with a 5K-hr Life
For up to 5,000 hours, solid-state capacitors can tolerate temperatures of up to 221 degrees Fahrenheit / 105 degrees Celsius. This durability contributes to the motherboard's long service life.

Back I/O Stainless Steel
The back I/O panels on ASUS motherboards are constructed of stainless steel that has been bonded with a thin layer of chromium oxide to aid improve anti-corrosion qualities. ASUS stainless steel back I/O panels have a long operational life after passing 72-hour spray salt endurance testing.

ESD Guards for Electrostatic Discharge Protection
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can occur unexpectedly, and its destructive effects are often overlooked. ASUS ESD Guards have passed thorough testing and can withstand air discharges of up to 10kV and contact discharges of up to 6kV. ASUS uses an active protective circuit design to protect your system from electrostatic interference and damage, extending component life.

ASUS Z97-E Compatibility

Thousands of devices are compatible with each 9 Series motherboard. ASUS engineers install and test server and consumer CPUs, hundreds of memory modules, dozens of graphics cards, among other components, a bevy of storage devices, power supplies, network devices, screens, and optical drives

ASUS Z97-E Reliability

ASUS motherboards have a longer lifetime. ASUS proves this by putting each board through over 7,000 hours of extensive testing. Burn-in, environmental, compatibility, software, and safety tests enable ASUS motherboards to prove their reliability and functionality.

ASUS Z97-E Testing

From transit to daily operations, each motherboard is put through extensive reliability testing under high-stress conditions to ensure it arrives in perfect shape. Temperature and humidity testing, burn-in, power on/off, power consumption, insertion, and thermal-shock testing are just a few of the tests. To assure trouble-free performance, every certified-compatible component is placed through a 24-hour aging test.

Crystal Sound 2

Crystal Sound 2 makes customizing audio settings for the way you want to listen to a breeze, whether you're gaming, chatting, watching movies, or just resting with your favorite music. Onboard physical shielding, a professionally developed design, and quality components, such as Japanese-made audio capacitors and operational amplifiers (op-amps), result in high-fidelity sound output.

BIOS UEFI

The operation of this graphical and mouse-controlled BIOS has been modified to make it more user-friendly. DRAM performance can be improved using EZ XMP, individual fan control can be fine-tuned, and a real-time hardware monitor can offer data from essential sections of your system.

Easy Mode
Fan Profile: Information on the CPU and case fans to aid system cooling.
SATA Information: Displays SATA port data to aid in device identification.
Adjusting the Clock: To modify the time and date, use the mouse controls. Improve DRAM performance with EZ XMP.

Advanced Settings
Shortcut: To create shortcuts to specific settings, hit Enter, or select an existing shortcut and press F4 to get directly there.
Quick Notes: Takes down notes and suggestions about BIOS.
SATA Port Renaming: Rename SATA ports for identification purposes. Last Modified Log: Track the last update and store preferred profiles on a USB drive.

Xpert Fan 3

Fan Xpert 3 is a fan-management program that centralizes 4-pin/3-pin CPU and case fan controls. It analyzes the characteristics of each fan and intelligently delivers individual settings for each fan based on the dedicated area temperatures to ensure that each fan achieves the greatest mix of cooling performance and low noise. Fan Xpert 3 supports hardware-level PWM/DC combination mode for both CPU and case fans. It also features the improved capability of lowering the CPU fan speed to below the default minimum for extra-quiet and power-saving operation under light loads.

Fixed RPM Mode
With extremely specialized fan speed adjustments, this product is designed for consumers who want to lower noise levels to near 0 dB. It responds more quickly to system loads.

Mode of Automatic Tuning
With a single click, scans fan parameters using automatic speed detection to help give individual settings for each fan. This goes beyond the number of fans in your case to achieve optimal cooling for your components.

Fan Controls With Information
Provides comprehensive data that enables you to exert extensive control over each fan.

10 Gb/s USB 3.1

You'll get data-transfer speeds of up to 10 Gb/s, which is twice as fast as USB 3.0, thanks to a built-in USB 3.1 connection and two Type-A connectors for USB data transfers. Your existing USB devices will be backward compatible with USB 3.1, so you'll be ready to take advantage of the faster speeds. ASUS' USB 3.1 Boost technology boosts USB 3.1 performance even more.
